Work Poem

I want to say
work is honorable
but then
people get paid
for all kinds
of things

I am doing simple work now
very simple work
chopping wood
carrying water

what can be honorable
is how one does one's work

it is not so much WHAT
but the WAY of doing it

this is where honor lies—
in mindfulness
