Heartbeat

it occurs to me
between my legs at first
then up and out
my mindless uppermost

when I say mindless
(mind me) that I mean
for in that mindless state
I have a mind
a mind that selfless is
a mind that finds its way to
universal mind
not there to stay
but briefly dwindle
candle lit and how
and break an even heartbeat
back again
to bed
to bed
the wrinkled sheets ignore
to find
to find
the rest she has in store
which may be none
awaking all the while
before an irritated thrust
and frustrated smile
