You
and of course
the ever-present future
(real buddies)
they go together like
wind and sky— oh my
and when someone mentions:
Adolph Hitler
The Salem Witch Trials
Abortion, The Crusades
Vietnam, AIDS
Hiroshima
or Capital Punishment
they just laugh
and say quietly together
under their breath
with a wink
“...appetizers”
