I suppose I can laugh now, and yet I wrote this poem in the early 80's at at time when I wanted to "tear my head off" for how I could not stop thinking about a relationship I had botched up. I was nothing short of tormented. Still, even then I was able to see the problem.

(the pledge of allegiance) (an alleged allegiance) a lot of different ways will open a can of oil a lot of different ways will open a mind yet don't tell (once open) a mind where to go or what to do no funnel no tunnel just set it on the (green pasture) fence and it will inevitably (purple mountain) see the truth all by itself
to you, my love, my dearest good morning, good morning siting here thinking of you how precious all of life is how quickly it changes how sacred it all is how sweet the moments how important that we recognize them as such experience them deeply good morning, my sweet
This poem really made me laugh! it reminded me why I don't watch the nightly news anymore!
